Getting started
How do I create an account?
- Click Register at the top right of any page.
- Choose a username — this is your login ID and appears next to every post you make. You can't change it later, so pick something you're happy with.
- Enter your email address and a password (minimum 6 characters).
- Answer the quick math check at the bottom (something like "What is 4 + 7?") — this is there to keep bots out.
- Click Register. You'll be logged in and taken to the home page.
How do I log in?
Click Login at the top right, enter your username (not your email) and your password, then click Login.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
On the login page, click Forgot Password, enter your username, and submit the request. The admin will contact you on the email address you registered with and give you a new password.
How to start a new thread
- Pick the section that fits your topic — from the home page, click one of the categories (e.g. NRI Issues, Off Topic, Faith & Spirituality, Programming, etc.).
- Inside that section, click the + New Thread button at the top of the thread list.
- Type a title that summarises your topic (this is what shows up in the thread list, so make it descriptive).
- Write your message in the editor. Use the toolbar above the editor for formatting (bold, italic, colour, size, alignment, emoji).
- Optionally attach photos, videos, or paste a YouTube link — see below for details.
- Click 👁 Preview to see exactly how your post will look before it goes live. Click ✎ Back to Edit to keep editing.
- When you're happy, click Post Thread. Your thread appears immediately at the top of that section.
How to reply to a thread
- Open the thread you want to reply to (click its title from any list).
- Scroll to the bottom — you'll see a reply box under the last post.
- Type your reply. All the same formatting options and photo/video uploads work here too.
- To quote another member's post in your reply, click the ❝ Quote button next to their message. Their post will be inserted into your reply in a quote block, and you can type your response underneath it.
- Click 👁 Preview to check how it'll look.
- Click Post Reply. Your reply appears at the bottom of the thread.
Formatting your posts
The toolbar above the editor gives you these options:
- B — Bold
- I — Italic
- U — Underline
- Size — pick 10, 12, 14, 16 or 18 pixels
- Font — choose a font family
- Align — left, center or right
- Emoji — pick from a menu of emojis
To apply formatting: select the text first, then click the toolbar button. What you see in the editor is exactly what your post will look like — no code or symbols.
Adding photos, videos and YouTube links
Uploading photos or videos from your device
- In the new-thread or reply editor, look for the attach media button (paperclip / photo icon).
- Choose an image (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP) or a video (MP4, WebM, MOV) from your device.
- Maximum size per file is 50 MB.
- The file uploads directly from your browser — you'll see a thumbnail once it's ready.
- Post your thread or reply as normal. The media appears with your post.
Embedding a YouTube video
Just paste the YouTube link into your message — any format works (a normal youtube.com/watch?v=... link, a youtu.be short link, or a Shorts link). When you post, the link automatically turns into a playable video embedded in your post. No extra step needed.
Your profile
How do I upload a profile photo?
- Click your name or avatar at the top right of the page to open your profile.
- Click Upload Photo (or the current avatar).
- Choose an image from your device (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP; up to 5 MB).
- Your photo appears immediately, everywhere you're shown on the site.
How do I change my display name?
Open your profile page, find the Change Display Name section, type your new name and click Save. This changes how your name appears on posts — it does not change your username (which is your login ID and stays the same).
How do I change my password?
On your profile page, use the Change Password form. You'll need to enter your current password first, then your new password twice. If the current password is wrong, the change is refused.
How do others see my profile?
Every member has a public page at /members/<username> showing their photo, name, join date, post count and their last 10 threads and replies. Click any username on a post to open their profile.
Likes, thanks and quotes
Liking a post
At the bottom of every post, next to the reply time, you'll see a 🤍 Like button. Click it to like the post. You can unlike by clicking it again. You can't like your own posts.
Quoting a post in your reply
Click ❝ Quote at the top-right of any post to have its text pulled into the reply box in a quote block. Type your response beneath it and post.
Editing or deleting your own posts
At the top-right of any of your own posts you'll see ✎ Edit and 🗑 Delete buttons. Click Edit to change the text or attachments; click Delete to remove the post permanently. Deleting your first post in a thread (the one that started it) deletes the entire thread and all its replies.
Reporting a post
If you see a post that breaks the Community Guidelines (spam, harassment, off-topic, copyright violation, etc.):
- Click the amber ⚠ Report button at the top-right of the post.
- A small box appears — describe briefly why you're reporting it.
- Click Send Report. Our admin team sees the report along with a direct link to the post.
If you want to report something else (a member's behaviour across multiple posts, a profile, or you're not logged in), use the standalone Report Abuse form instead.
Notifications and messages
The 🔔 bell icon at the top of the page shows a red dot when someone replies to a thread you posted in, or reacts to a thread you started. Click it to see all your recent notifications; opening the page marks them as read.
The ✉ envelope icon opens private messages between members. It works the same way — a red dot means you have an unread message.
Searching the forum
Use the search bar at the top of the page (or the 🔍 icon on phones). Type any word or phrase — the search looks through every thread title AND every post body across the whole forum. Matching words are highlighted in the results, and each result shows a short preview of the matching text.
Mini games
We have a small games section at /games. It includes a Hyderabad/India trivia quiz, tic-tac-toe, rock-paper-scissors, memory match, word scramble, and guess-the-number. Free to play, no signup needed.
