Window seat, always. I'll pay the extra ₹600 on the Dubai to Hyderabad flight just
for it. My husband likes the aisle because of his long legs and his small bladder.
We've had this argument for 4 years. So we book window and aisle with the
middle seat between us and pray nobody buys it. Last trip somebody did buy it, a
very large uncle, and he fell asleep on my shoulder. Coming into Hyderabad at night you
can see the whole ring road lit up in a long orange circle. I always
press my forehead on the plastic and my husband tells me I'll leave a mark. On
the way back to Dubai it's just sand and then more sand, and I still look.
Last month a kid in the next row told his mother he could see our house. We
were at 30,000 feet. The window has costs. You're trapped. Once the person in the aisle falls
asleep, you're not leaving your seat for 4 hours. I've held it in more than once. I've
also climbed over a sleeping man and apologised 6 times. The window shade fights are the worst part.
Somebody always wants it shut at noon so they can watch a film. I just keep
my hand on it and say, give me 10 minutes of sky, then you can have it.
My sister is the opposite. She picks the aisle and walks
the plane every hour like it's a morning walk. She says a
window seat is a prison with a nice view. I said
that's what I want. We agreed we can't sit together on any
flight longer than 2 hours. So which one are you, window,
aisle, or middle because you booked late? No judgement, only a little.
