A friend is flying in from Jaipur next month for 4 days. She's never eaten properly in
Hyderabad. I've been making a list on my phone for a week and I already don't trust it.
It's all the places I went to in college. Half of them might have closed by now. So
I need help from people who still eat out more than I do. What I have so far.
Mirchi bajji in the evening, an Irani chai and Osmania biscuit place, bun maska near my old college. She
asked for kebabs because she saw a reel. I'll take her once, somewhere good, not whatever came up first online.
Her one rule is no tourist traps. Her second rule is she can't handle too
much spice. I told her Hyderabad doesn't know what too much spice means. She didn't laugh.
I'm unsure about sweets. Double ka meetha and qubani ka meetha, I know the famous names. We always
made both at home for functions so I've never gone looking for them. Haleem is a problem too.
She lands in the wrong month and I don't know who sells it all year. Is
there a place that does, or do we just tell her to come back at Ramzan.
If you've got one place you'd take a visiting friend, tell me the area and the dish. That's enough.
Also tell me what runs out early. I don't want to arrive at 9 pm and see an empty tray.
I'd like at least one evening where we sit down, and one where we eat
standing at a cart. I'll report back after she leaves, with photos and her ratings.
