I read your post twice, Universe. It sounded so excited to be here. Reminded me of my first week, when I checked the site every hour and refreshed for replies. I've made two good friends through the movie threads alone, and we chat every week now. Hope you find some people like that. Don't overthink your first post, mine was terrible.

Sharing your own experiences is what keeps a forum going, so good on you for saying it. Most people only read, and then threads die inside a day or so, which is a shame. Thanks for the cheerful post, a lot of intros around here are pretty plain. One thing I like about this forum, people disagree but it mostly stays polite. If something breaks the rules, hit the report button and the moderators will look at it. Curious to see what you write about in the weekly threads, Universe. If you like quick votes, check the Polls page, there are new ones now and then. The site has a few small games as well for when you're sick of reading threads. I was shy about posting too when I joined, maybe four months ago, and I nearly deleted my first draft three times. What worked for me was replying to one thread a day, even just two lines. By the end of a week I knew the regular names and they knew mine. Try it, Universe. The place starts feeling like a neighbourhood.
