myself, Dr. Aleem, just joined this Hyderabadi community forum with lots of excitement, as I am also from Hyderabad and living in Riyadh - KSA. Looking forward to spend good time and having fun.

The best part of the NRI section is how people back each other up. Last month someone had a visa problem and three members shared contacts and advice within an hour. Kind bunch, really. Your experience as a doctor abroad will matter to a lot of them. Glad you joined, Doctor. Waiting for your first post, even if it's only a hello from Riyadh.

Living in Riyadh and being from Hyderabad, I'm guessing you cook biryani on weekends. Is it your mother's recipe or your grandmother's, or do you just wing it? Food threads get a lot of attention here, and I've seen good tips for finding spices abroad. Maybe put yours in a thread of its own one day. People will argue about the dum method, but that's half the fun.

Great to see you, Dr. Aleem. Where did you study medicine, and how was it? A lot of Hyderabad people did their MBBS at Osmania or Gandhi, and those stories make good threads. If you've got anything from your student days, funny or serious, we'd love to read it. No rush on writing it, take your time, the long posts usually do best here.

Joining with lots of excitement is a decent way to start. Hope it lasts past the first month. A few NRI members told me the forum keeps them close to home on slow weekends and holidays. I log in more on Fridays, when everything's closed here too, so reading time is plenty. So give it a go, Doctor, and let us know how it feels.

Hello Dr. Aleem. I've heard Riyadh has a big Hyderabadi crowd, and the Eid gatherings sound lively. Do you meet people from the city regularly, or is it mostly colleagues from work? Some members in Saudi organise small meetups every few months, so it's worth asking around. Try the NRI section, that's where they post updates and answer questions pretty quickly.

Good to have someone from the medical side here, Doctor. Health questions come up all the time. Nobody expects free consultations, but general pointers on sleep, diet or when to see a doctor would help.

Welcome Dr. Aleem, nice to see another Hyderabadi settled in Riyadh joining the forum this week. I worked in Jeddah for three years and missed Irani chai and Sunday biryani more than family sometimes. There are plenty of threads here about NRI life, so start with that section. Do you get back to Hyderabad every year, or does the work schedule make that hard?
