Takes about a minute in profile settings, and you can swap it whenever. I got my first reply only after I changed mine. Do it today and your next posts will feel a bit more personal.

Hello Anam. If you like reading more than writing, that's fine too, I did mostly that for my first month. Plenty of members read quietly and still count as part of the community, and the numbers on the front page prove it. The more you read, the easier that first long post gets. Go at your own pace, Anam. Nobody expects a post every day.

Short intro, fine, but I hope your first real discussion runs longer. Lots of people think they've got nothing interesting to say. Then they post about a funny auto ride and get ten replies. Try one this week, Anam, and see how it goes for you. We're a patient group and we like a bit of humour, the dumber the better.

A name and two words is a pretty minimal start, Anam, but it works for me. I did the same on day one and replies came quicker than I expected, even with a single line post.

New to the board, but not for long. You'll know everyone's name in a month. Best first step is reading other people's intros, then writing a longer one yourself. Area, interests, why you joined, that's all we need, and a line on your favourite food wouldn't hurt.
