👋 Shaker here, 31, from Tolichowki, an accountant who loses at chess every night

Hello everyone, I am Shaker, I am 31, and I live in Tolichowki with my wife, our two year old and my father. I work as an accountant at a small trading firm in Begum Bazaar, mostly doing monthly filings and stock reconciliation. It is not exciting work but I like numbers that finally add up at the end of the month. I travel by bike and it takes me about 55 minutes each way if the Mehdipatnam flyover is cooperating. Outside work I play online chess every night after the baby sleeps, usually the fast games, and I lose more than I win. I also cook on Sundays, mostly egg curry and plain rice, because my mother in law told my wife that every man should have one dish. I follow cricket casually, I read old Telugu paperbacks that I buy for 30 rupees from a footpath seller near Abids, and I am slowly learning to fix my own bike chain, with mixed results. I joined because I kept landing on this forum from search results while looking up local problems like water tankers and bus routes, and I noticed that people here truly reply to each other without fighting. I would like to learn from people who have been through things like buying a first flat, school admissions for a toddler and just general life in Hyderabad. I will try to be useful in return, especially if anyone is stuck on the basics of how invoices and ledgers work. My wife says I will spend more time reading than posting, and she is probably right, but I will say hello properly when I have something useful to add. Welcome Shaker, and good luck with the chess losses, mine usually come when I play after midnight. Hyderabadi egg curry on a Sunday sounds like a proper tradition. When we bought our flat, visiting the Sub Registrar office once beforehand made the process far less scary. Many members here have been through school admissions too, so ask freely when you reach that stage.
