Hi, I am Yasmeen, 34, from Malakpet, and I have been reading this forum for almost 20 days without an account.
I teach English to classes 6 to 8 at a small private school near Chaderghat. Thirty four students, one fan that works, and a board marker that dies every third day. I love the job more than I let people know.
Outside school I cook for my in laws' Sunday lunches, which means I am usually up by 6 am on weekends. I have tried to learn embroidery three times and I have three unfinished cushion covers in a bag to prove it. I read a lot too, mostly paperbacks I buy second hand for 80 or 100 rupees near Koti.
I read the local issues section the most, because our lane has had the same water pressure problem since 2022. Then I read the mobile Q&A, even though I do not understand half of it, because my phone hangs and I want to know why.
What made me finally join was a thread about remembering old landline numbers. I had not thought about ours in years and I remembered it instantly, which felt strange and nice at the same time.
I hope to find some good book suggestions, a few people from Hyderabad who like talking about everyday things, and maybe someone who knows how to fix a slow phone without spending 3,000 rupees at a repair shop. I am also a quiet person in real life, so please forgive me if I take a while to reply.
That is me. What should a new person read first around here, and are there any threads you would not miss?
