I went to the Shamshabad airport last month to pick up my cousin, and the flight was due at 8 PM.
It got delayed to 9, then 10. I'd already parked, so the car just sat there with the meter running.
I took valet because it looked easy. No hunting for a spot, no circling around, just hand over the keys.
Then I stood at arrivals for almost 2 hours, checking the board every few minutes like it would change.
When I got the bill I didn't say anything. I just looked at it for a while.
Nobody tricked me. I just never checked the flight before leaving home.
Now I open the flight app at home and again before I start the car, and I leave only when it shows landed.
Shamshabad is far from the city, so one wrong guess costs you hours, not just a few minutes.
Valet or self parking is a choice I still can't settle. Valet is easier if you're in a hurry.
For a long wait I'd probably park myself next time, even if it means more walking.
I don't remember the exact rates and they change, so I won't quote any. Check the airport's own site.
Ask people who do this often. They always have a story about one bad evening at the airport.
One more thing. Decide with your passenger where you'll meet. The airport is big, and first timers get lost.
My cousin came out of a different gate than I expected and we spent 15 minutes calling each other.
If you're bringing an elderly person, think about the walk from the parking to the terminal too.
How do you all handle pickups? Valet, self parking, or just wait outside in the car?
