🐃 Buffaloes blocking the main road every evening near my colony, is this normal?

The bit about the auto driver planning his route around it hit close to home. My own regular driver near Habsiguda does the same thing now, takes a longer road on purpose most evenings after six. I used to think he was being overly cautious until I saw the herd myself blocking almost the whole junction one day. Quietly adjusting around it does seem to be everyone's default response around here.

That van driving past without stopping sounds exactly like what happened near my house in Malkajgiri a few months ago. Two cows sat right at the turning for almost an hour, a GHMC vehicle slowed down, looked, and just moved on. Not sure if they only act on complaints filed through some app, but seeing the van do nothing at all was honestly more frustrating than never seeing one show up in the first place.

Every evening around six thirty, right when people are trying to get home from work, a group of five or six buffaloes just plants itself in the middle of the road near my colony in Nacharam. Cars have to slow to walking pace, bikes squeeze through wherever they can, and the owner is usually nowhere in sight until much later. I have lived in this area for almost four years and this has only become a regular thing in the last six months or so, before that I would see maybe one or two stray cows near the garbage bins but not a whole herd sitting across two lanes. Last week I was almost late picking up my daughter from her tuition class because the road was completely blocked for close to fifteen minutes, and the auto I was in had to reverse and take a longer route through a lane that is barely wide enough for one vehicle. The auto driver told me this happens almost daily now and he has just started planning his route around it, which honestly says a lot about how normalized it has become for people who use that road often. I tried asking around and someone mentioned there is a small dairy setup nearby that lets the cattle graze loose in the evenings once the milking is done, but I have no real way of confirming if that is true or just a guess people are making. I did see a GHMC cattle catching van drive past once a few months back, but it did not stop, and the same buffaloes were back the very next evening like nothing happened at all. What gets me is that nobody seems to complain about it directly, people just adjust and work around it, the same way we adjust around potholes or a dead streetlight. I do not want to sound harsh toward the animals or whoever owns them, I just want to understand if this is something an area can actually get fixed through a complaint, or if it is one of those things that just becomes part of daily life here and stays that way forever no matter what. Has anyone in a similar area managed to get this sorted, or reported it somewhere that actually worked?

Filed a complaint through the My GHMC app about a similar stray cattle issue near Uppal last year, and honestly did not expect much, but a van actually came within four days and the problem eased off for a couple of months before slowly creeping back. Might be worth trying that instead of just waiting for a random patrol to notice on its own.

I doubt it is really just one dairy setup causing all of it, more likely a few different owners letting cattle loose once their work for the day is done, since I have noticed different coloured buffaloes near my area depending on the week. At least that is what a shopkeeper near my house told me when I asked him the same question a while back.
