My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S26, bought a few weeks back. For the last 4
days it keeps freezing. Every 10 to 15 minutes the screen stops responding. Touch does nothing.
Then after 5 or 6 seconds it wakes up. It happens in WhatsApp,
in the camera, even on the home screen when I'm doing nothing at all.
It's practically new, so I don't want to just run to the shop. Trying
everything I can first. Here's what I've done so far. Restarted it about 10
times. Checked the storage, and there's plenty free. Updated all my apps from the
Play Store. Cleared the cache of Instagram and WhatsApp. Still froze 20 minutes later.
I also checked for a system update. It says my software is up to
date, so nothing to install there. My brother says just do a factory reset.
I don't want to do that unless there's no other way. It gets warm sometimes,
mostly when I'm charging and using it together. But it freezes even when it's cool.
I don't have many apps. Maybe 40, and most came with the phone. I installed
5 or 6 myself. The last app I added was a free photo editor, 2
days before the freezing started. I deleted it, no change. My phone is still under
warranty, so I can go to a service centre, but it's a long trip for me.
If someone has the same phone and the same problem, tell me what fixed it for you.
I'm not great with settings and menus. Simple steps please, like what to press and where to find
it. I use this phone for work calls too, so a freeze in the middle of a
call is the worst. Yesterday it froze while my manager was talking and I had to ring back.
Very awkward. Thanks in advance, everyone.
