My phone supports 5G already. The network keeps messaging me about a 5G plan that costs
more each month. So it's not about buying hardware. It's only whether the extra money is
worth it right now. I checked the coverage map for Kondapur. It shows 5G on the
main road and patchy everywhere else. It looked fine on the map. In my house, it's
another story. Last week I tried my friend's 5G connection. Outside near the flyover, it was
fast, no doubt. I walked into his building and the signal dropped to 4G in 10 seconds.
Inside the lift, nothing. At my place it drops to 4G in the bedroom and kitchen. So
I'd pay extra for a signal I see outside. That's about 15 minutes a day on the road,
mostly while sitting in traffic. I use my phone for messaging, social media, some streaming and video
calls. 4G handles all of it. I did a video call with my sister last Sunday and nobody
asked me to repeat anything. Maybe if I downloaded big files or played online games, I'd feel it.
I don't do either much. So I'm leaning towards waiting a few months and keeping my old
plan. But I keep thinking someone will say I'm wrong. Has anyone here switched and felt a
big difference? Also, does it depend on the network? A colleague says his 5G is solid in
Gachibowli but poor in Kukatpally. If one company is clearly better in Hyderabad, I'd like to know
before I decide. Anyone living in an apartment, did 5G work properly inside your flat for you?
