Not every laptop problem needs a repair shop. Before spending money, try these basic checks. Random shutdowns: Check the fan and vents for dust. Overheating can automatically shut down the laptop to protect the CPU. Not charging: Try another wall socket first. Then check the charging cable and, if possible, test with a compatible charger. Keyboard/trackpad problems after a spill: Shut the laptop down completely. Don't turn it back on while wet; let it dry for 24-48 hours. Laptop running slowly: Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and check CPU and disk usage. Background apps, browser tabs, or startup programs are common causes. Wi-Fi disconnecting: Restart the router, reconnect to the network, and update the Wi-Fi driver if the problem affects only your laptop. Visit a repair shop for physical damage, liquid dam

Thanks for this! Really helpful checklist especially the bits about overheating from dust and not powering on after a spill. I’ll definitely try these before rushing to a repair shop next time.
