I've used a clear case on every phone I've owned. 6 phones, 6 clear cases, and they all
went yellow. My cousin laughs at me every time. She has a bright orange one with a cartoon cat
on it. Last month I finally dropped my phone on the stairs, and the clear case did nothing special.
The phone survived, but there was a dent on the corner and I felt it in my stomach. So now I'm
shopping for a new case and I can't decide between plain and loud. Plain looks clean and goes with whatever I'm wearing.
Nobody ever looks twice at it. Loud ones are fun, but I'd get bored after 2 weeks and then I'm stuck with
it for a year. I went into a mobile shop near my office and the wall of cases made my head spin.
The shopkeeper said silicone gives the best grip, and hard plastic looks nicer but slips off a table. I picked
up a rubbery one in dark green for about 300 rupees and carried it around for a minute. It felt
good in my hand, but it also grabbed my pocket and I had to pull hard to get the phone out.
Pocket grab is the thing nobody tells you about. I didn't buy it. Do you buy a case for looks or for
drops? I've been telling myself it's for drops. Does your style change with the price of the phone? A pricey phone makes me
want plain and tough. My cheap old phone had a sparkly case and I loved it, so maybe that's just how people are.
Tell me what you use right now, and whether you'd buy the same one again.
