My phone is 3 years old and works fine, but I keep looking at what's new. Phones
this year feel like a real jump, not the usual same design with a new sticker. Some
things stood out when I was reading and watching reviews in the evenings. Fast charging is one.
Some phones now charge in a tiny fraction of the time mine does. The camera AI
is another. Night shots and portraits look so good it's a little scary. One tap to
remove a random person from the background of a photo, which I tried at a friend's
place. Foldables seem sturdy enough to trust as a daily phone now, or so people say.
I'm not fully convinced yet, because I keep thinking about that hinge and the crease.
Satellite SOS messaging sounds useful when you have no signal at all. I'd never use it,
but my father travels a lot and it would help my mother relax. Phones that run
assistants without the internet for basic tasks are another one. Faster and more private. Those are
the ones that stood out for me. I'm sure I've missed a few. So which of
these would make you upgrade? Or does none of it matter if your phone still works?
Fast charging and camera AI would tip me over, if I'm honest. The rest feels
like a bonus. I'd like to see a ranked list from everyone. I wonder if it
matches what the ads push. Anyone planning to upgrade this year? Tell me what's pushing you.
