📱 PhonePe says my Redmi 13C isn't secure since the last update

Since Tuesday night PhonePe won't open on my Redmi 13C, it just flashes a message saying my device isn't secure.
Same thing with my SBI YONO app. Google Pay still works fine, which makes it even weirder to me.
I haven't rooted anything, I don't even know how to do that. The only thing that changed is a system update.
The phone downloaded it by itself and restarted around 2 am while I was sleeping, I saw the notification in the morning.
Then at the petrol bunk in Tolichowki the payment wouldn't go through and I had to borrow 500 rupees from my brother.
I already cleared cache and data for PhonePe, uninstalled it and installed it again from the Play Store.
Same message, same screen, the app closes in two seconds.
My cousin thinks it's developer options. I did turn those on months ago to make the animations faster, then forgot all about it.
Could that really be it, or is the update the problem? I don't want a factory reset, my mother's photos are all on this phone.

Developer options is very likely the reason. A lot of bank and UPI apps now refuse to open when it's switched on,
and some recent Xiaomi updates made that check stricter, so it only started after your update.
Go to Settings, Additional settings, Developer options and turn the switch at the top off, then restart.
PhonePe and YONO should open normally. No reset needed, the photos are safe.
