I have a Poco X5, bought in March 2024 for 14,999 rupees, running the latest update it has offered.
Since about three weeks ago the touch screen stops responding for a few seconds whenever it is plugged in to charge.
It happens with the original charger and the cable that came in the box, but I noticed it more when the battery is below 30 percent.
The screen still shows everything, and scrolling just freezes, then jumps ahead. If I unplug it, the touch comes back in about two seconds.
It does not happen when the phone is on battery, even if the battery is at 5 percent, which is why I do not think the screen itself is damaged.
It started the week after I installed a new camera app, so I wonder if that is related, but I removed the app and nothing changed.
What I have tried so far: restarted the phone twice, removed the screen guard in case it was the guard, wiped the screen, tested with my brother's charger (same problem, a bit milder), and cleared the cache for the launcher.
I also did a quick test in safe mode, and the problem still happened there. I have not done a factory reset because I have around 9 GB of photos that are not backed up,
and I would like to avoid that unless it is truly the last choice. The service centre in Abids said they would charge 1,200 rupees just to look at it.
Has anyone seen this on a Poco or a similar phone? Is it a charger grounding thing, or a software bug that a later update will fix?
