I haven't been to a theatre in almost 4 months. Work ate every weekend, and the rest
went to sleep. A friend says this month has a few Telugu releases and I should pick
one. Just one. That's all my schedule allows, so I want to choose carefully, not off a trailer.
Two are big commercial films with the usual big names. One is small, and a colleague
keeps mentioning it. The small one has almost no promotion. No giant cutouts, no interviews everywhere.
My colleague says people leaving the early shows were telling their friends to go. That makes me curious, but it also
makes me nervous, because I've been wrong before. Last year I saw a film with the best trailer I'd seen in ages.
Total waste of a Saturday. I paid for 2 tickets, parking and a lot of popcorn for
that one, and my sister still brings it up. The film looked great in every frame and had
nothing under it. I couldn't care less who the characters were. So I don't trust critics much either.
Sometimes they love the slow serious ones and I fall asleep. I'm fine with a loud, silly mass film if it's done
with some energy. So if you've been to an early show this month, tell me what you saw and how the crowd was.
Don't tell me the story, just whether you'd pay for it again. I'll watch one, come back here and
say if it was worth it. My plan is Saturday night, so please reply before then if you can.
