I keep a note on my phone with the action films I've watched this year. 6 so
far. Every time I open it, I swap the order. It's a bit silly, but it's become a
small habit. The one at number 1 today was number 4 a month ago, and number 6 before
that. I walked out of it thinking it was just okay and then couldn't stop thinking about 1
fight. The film I was most sure about in the hall is now number 5. Loud, fast, great
in the dark. A week later I couldn't tell you a single line or what the villain wanted.
That's the thing with big action. The theatre does half the work for it. At home on a small screen you only
see what's left over, and sometimes that's very little. This year has been decent for this kind of film, better than last year
in my memory. We got South films, Hindi films and the usual big Hollywood ones, and a couple of cheaper ones held up.
Some of the cheaper ones had better fights because they couldn't hide behind blasts and cars. My cousin disagrees. He
says if it isn't big, it isn't action. So how do you rank? Is it the hall, the story, or
the fight you remember a week later? Send me your top 3 and one line on why you picked each.
I'll update my note and post the new order here after the next big
release. My list is not final, obviously. It never is. Don't judge number 5.
