👨‍👩‍👧 Dealing with family pressure about career choices

My family has very fixed ideas about what career I should have and it's nothing close to what I actually want to do. Every conversation turns into an argument. Has anyone managed to actually get their parents to come around on something like this?

I went through something similar a few years back. What helped was sitting down with my parents and actually showing them a real plan instead of just saying "trust me" - timelines, what success looks like, and a backup option. It does not always change their mind immediately, but it shows you have thought it through and slowly builds trust. Take your time with the conversation, it usually is not a one-time fix.
