I started learning web pages 2 weeks ago, from YouTube. I've watched parts of 7 different channels. That
was a mistake, because each person teaches in a different order and uses different words for the same thing.
One calls it a div, the next calls it a container, and a third one
just says box. I kept pausing, going back, and losing track of where I was.
Last night I spent 90 minutes trying to put 1 box in the middle of the page. Just 1
box. I found 4 different answers online and each one worked in the video but not on my screen.
My brother walked past and asked why I looked so angry. I said, I'm making a website. He laughed for
a while. I got it centered at 11:40 pm and I'm still not sure why it worked. I can't pay
for a course right now. A paid one costs 3,000 or 4,000 rupees and I don't know if I'll stick.
I want something free with a proper order, so I know what to learn first and what to skip.
Videos are fine, but I'd also like something where I type the code myself and it tells me if
it's right. My phone has plenty of storage, so I could even practise on it during my travel to work.
I've got about 1 hour in the evening and a bit more on Sundays. No rush, no
deadline. Should I finish all of HTML first, then CSS, or learn a bit of each together?
And how long did it take you before you made a page you weren't embarrassed to show anyone?
If you have a channel or a site that worked
for you, I'll go back and start from lesson 1.
