🎓 Realistic timeline from bootcamp finish to first real developer job, based on your experience?

Finished a fairly intensive six month coding bootcamp about three weeks ago now, and I am currently deep in the actual job hunting phase, applying fairly steadily most days, though the sheer volume of application rejections so far, several dozen already with barely any actual responses beyond an automated acknowledgment email, has started to genuinely make me question the realistic overall timeline I originally set for myself before actually finishing the program itself. The bootcamp itself was reasonably good as an actual learning experience, solid fundamentals in JavaScript, a decent working understanding of React, and I did build three fairly complete projects during the program that I am honestly still fairly proud of as actual pieces of work, but the specific transition from finishing the program itself to actually landing a first real paying job feels considerably slower and harder than what the bootcamp's own marketing materials originally implied it would realistically be for most graduates. Talked to two former classmates from the exact same specific cohort, one landed a junior role within roughly six weeks of us actually finishing together, the other is still searching after nearly four months now, which is honestly a wide enough range on its own that it has made it genuinely difficult for me to properly calibrate my own personal expectations for this specific search process realistically. I am trying to stay reasonably productive during this specific search period itself, building one additional small project on the side, going back over fundamentals I feel slightly less confident in overall, but the actual uncertainty around how long this realistically takes for most people is honestly the most stressful single part of this entire process for me personally right now. For people who actually went through a bootcamp themselves and eventually landed a first developer role afterward, what was your own realistic timeline like specifically, and did anything in particular that you actually did during that specific search period genuinely seem to speed things up meaningfully for you?
