⚽ Where do you all play weekend football?

Our weekend football group has a problem. We have no fixed ground and it's getting annoying. Every Friday night someone texts "any turf free tomorrow?" and then 6 people start calling around. Last week we ended up on a bumpy patch with stones, and my friend twisted his knee. He's fine now, but he still limps a little when we're around and blames all of us for it. We're usually 8 to 10 people, depending on who has family functions that weekend. So we need a 5v5 or 7v7 turf where everyone can rotate without standing around. Budget matters too. We split the booking, and nobody wants to pay a huge amount. Good grass or a proper turf surface is the main thing for us. Changing rooms would be nice, but I'm not fussy. Even clean water and a bench is fine. We tried booking through an app once and the slot got cancelled an hour before. Calling the venue directly worked better, but then nobody picks up on busy weekends. Anyone have a way to book that works without chasing people on the phone? If you already have a weekly group with space for 2 more players, count us in. I'd rather join something running than start a fresh one and handle all the messages. Though if we do start one from this thread, I'll take care of the bookings and the reminders. Also, does rain ruin everything? Which turfs drain well or have a roof?

Ha, the hockey ground idea made me laugh, but it might work. Some complexes rent it out. We tried one on a Sunday morning when it was empty, and the owner charged us very little. The surface was hard on the knees though, so wear proper shoes and warm up well. Weekday evenings are also easier to book if the weekends are full everywhere.

Try the turfs around Gachibowli and Kondapur first, there are quite a few and they're popular for regular games. Hotfut and Sporthood both came up when I searched for 5v5 slots, though I haven't played at either. Call ahead and confirm the slot, because weekends fill up quickly at most turfs in the city. Weekday evenings are usually easier if your group can manage that.
