I've been watching both leagues this season and can't pick a favourite. It's starting to bother me.
Premier League matches feel faster and rougher. La Liga feels slower and more about passing the ball. Two
years ago I only watched highlights on my phone, so I never followed a full season of either.
Now I stay up late for both, and my mother keeps asking why I look tired at breakfast.
Premier League games feel chaotic in a good way. Both teams attack, and the ball rarely just sits.
From what I've seen, tackles that get a card in La Liga are often waved on in England.
La Liga has long patient build ups. Some nights they look beautiful and some nights I check my phone. It
depends on my mood. After a long day I want chaos, not patience. The Premier League also feels deeper to me.
Even teams near the bottom can upset big sides. In La Liga, outside the top 2 or 3 teams, results seem
more predictable. That's just what I've watched. I could be wrong. I've only followed both properly for 2 seasons, so I
won't pretend to be an expert. My friend Arif says I'm only picking England because the commentary is easier to follow.
He might be right. So which one do you pick, and why? I'd like to hear from people who've
followed each for years. Does anyone here also watch Serie A or Bundesliga? I've never seen a full match
from either. I'm curious whether those feel more like England or more like Spain, or like something else completely.
Tell me if I'm missing a league that's better than both. I've got time this weekend.
