⏳ Web series that deserved a season two but never got one

Watched a genuinely well made web series a couple of years back, decent production values, a genuinely compelling ensemble cast, and a first season that clearly set up considerably more story still left to actually tell, only to discover afterward it never actually got renewed for an announced second season for reasons that were genuinely never clearly explained anywhere I could actually find myself. Looked into it a bit more out of simple curiosity, and apparently viewership numbers, while genuinely decent by most reasonable standards, simply did not meet whatever specific internal threshold the platform had actually set for renewal at the time, a fairly common and honestly frustrating fate for plenty of genuinely good shows that clearly do not manage to become massive breakout viral hits immediately upon actually releasing. What makes this particular one specifically sting is that the actual first season ended on a genuine, deliberate cliffhanger, clearly written and structured with a planned second season fully in mind from the very start, rather than as any kind of standalone, self contained story that could reasonably work as its own complete thing entirely on its own merits. Mentioned this specific frustration to a couple of friends who also watched it themselves at the time, and we ended up having a genuinely long, detailed conversation speculating about where the actual story might have realistically gone if it had actually gotten that proper second season it clearly seemed to be building toward before being cancelled. This happens often enough across streaming platforms generally that I have honestly started deliberately holding off starting newer shows until I can actually confirm they have already been renewed at least once, purely to avoid investing real time and emotional energy into something that might simply end abruptly without any genuine proper resolution ever actually being provided. What web series do people here feel genuinely deserved a proper second season but never actually got one, and did the actual ending it was left with work reasonably well as an unintended final conclusion, or did it just leave things feeling frustratingly incomplete overall?

Streaming platforms seem to treat a second season almost like a reward for existing viewer numbers rather than for whether the story has more left to tell properly, which explains why so many strong first seasons just end up stranded with no closure at all for anyone watching. My own list of these has grown embarrassingly long over the last few years alone.

A crime drama got cancelled on a cliffhanger a few years back and the creator later gave interviews explaining roughly where the story would have gone next season, which somehow felt worse than just never knowing at all would have. Reading a plot summary online months afterward is such a hollow way to end something that had real momentum going into it right up to that final episode.
